With interest rates at historic lows, you may be wondering if you should refinance your mortgage. Mortgage refinancing can provide a number of benefits depending on what you are looking to achieve. A refinance can generally help with:

1. Lowering monthly payments and reducing the total cost of your home
2. Switching from an adjustable-rate to a fixed-rate mortgage
3. Shortening the term of your loan
4. Borrowing money against your home equity
5. Canceling mortgage insurance
